APARC Online Fall 2020

APARC will be ONLINE for fall 2020!

We know things are going to be different this semester and want to make sure everyone is safe. Given the U’s COVID-19 guidelines and CDC’s recommendations for students to safely attend school this semester, APARC has decided to close our physical center in Appleby Hall 311 for the fall semester.

Many factors went into our decision including proper air ventilation in the center, space capacity to accommodate safe social distancing, logistics to manage student traffic, and the safety of everyone who will be in the center. We realize APARC is an important community space and many of you use the center’s resources while attending class on campus. However, we feel it’s most safe to close our center given the limitations and logistics of our space. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and update everyone when APARC will be reopened.

While our center will be closed for the semester, that doesn’t mean our work to support and provide a community for you will stop. We will continue to provide online activities, programs, and resources to support you throughout fall semester! We understand being together and doing things in an online space is new, different, and even awkward at times. However, we are committed to creating an online space that is just as safe, welcoming, fun, and supportive as our physical space. We welcome your voice and ideas to help us create a community for all of us. APARC is still here for you! We’re just *virtually* a click away. (:

Here's a snippet of what APARC online will be like for the semester:

  • Zoom socials and celebrations
  • online movie watch parties
  • live-streamed workshops and discussions
  • online peer tutoring and writing support
  • Zoom speaker events, and
  • So much more!
