Saulkdi Yangh is a third-year student at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. He is majoring in Sociology with a minor in Asian American Studies and African American Studies. His identity as a queer Hmong American 1st-generation college student plays a major role in his involvement with social justice and research work. He is extremely passionate about advocating with those who are displaced and strive towards grounding his work in transformative justice. Currently, he is involved in the Hmong Minnesota Student Association as their advocacy chair and the President Emerging Scholars Program as a Peer Mentor. During his free time, he enjoys playing board games with friends and family, reading, writing, sketching, and listening to spoken word.
