APARC Online Community

We hope everyone is well and taking time to breathe with all of the changes happening on campus and around our communities.  It is okay to have many feelings and emotions during this time. This is a difficult and unknown situation that we are all navigating.  As staff, the impact of COVID-19 to campus and our own communities has also left us feeling uncertain, anxious, and concerned. It’s been overwhelming at times, but we’ve found that staying connected with each other as a staff team has helped uplift our spirits, laugh out loud, and remind us that we are all in this together.

We want you to know that APARC is still here for you and we will continue to provide support during this time to assist in fostering your well-being to complete the rest of the semester.  Below are modifications to APARC to continue support as we move through the rest of the spring semester.

-APARC’s physical space will be closed for the rest of the 2020 spring semester as mandated by President Gabel.  Programming and resources for students will be available online and modified for virtual participation.

-We are creating a “Virtual APARC” Zoom room that anyone can access at any time. APARC staff and student staff will be available in the room during our office hours. Visit us @ z.umn.edu/VirtualAPARC.

-SWS Writing Support and Peer Tutoring will be available through online support.  SWS Writing Support will continue to provide face-to-face consultations via Zoom.  Online writing consultations is also available as normal per SWS.online.  Peer Tutoring will also be available via Zoom for one-to-one tutoring.

-APARC Drop-in Advising will also continue with CLA and CEHD advisors via Zoom during their drop-in sessions (Tuesdays, 10:30am-12:00pm and Wednesdays, 2:00pm-3:30pm).

Please continue to check our website, Facebook page, and Instagram for announcements and information about new online events and activities, academic support services, drop-in advising, and staff office hours.

We also invite all of you to help us think of ways we can support you through this time.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with ideas, thoughts, and creativity to keep us connected as an AAPI community.  Please continue to stay positive, take care of yourselves, and be kind to others during this time.

Thank you,

APARC Staff
